HYDREX® Membrane Tubes
HYDREX® Composite membrane tubes are ultra-thin, highly selective, and highly permeable reinforced functional tubes based on a proprietary polyamine polymer. The reinforcement layer is a porous substrate integrated into the structure of the membrane to provide enhanced mechanical properties. The enhanced mechanical properties allow the HYDREX tubes to be produced much thinner than standard extruded membranes, providing higher permeability of polar compounds without sacrificing strength. The HYDREX tubes can be used in applications where high thermal and chemical stability are not required. This includes applications such as conditioning of air and non-corrosive gases. The HYDREX tubes come with three different options for fittings: barbed, compression and push-to-connect.
XIPERM™ Membrane Tubes
XIPERM composite membrane tubes are ultra-thin, highly selective, highly stable, and highly permeable reinforced membrane tubes based on a perfluorosulfonic acid (PFSA) ionomer. The reinforcement layer is a porous substrate integrated into the structure of the membrane to provide enhanced mechanical properties. The enhanced mechanical properties allow the XIPERM™ tubes to be produced with much thinner walls than standard extruded tubes, providing higher permeability of polar compounds without sacrificing strength. The XIPERM tubes are required in applications where thermal and chemical stability are critical. This includes applications such as fuel cell humidifiers and analytical gas conditioning.

The XIPERM™ Gas Conditioning Tubing burst pressure exceeds 250 psi, allowing them to be used in a wide variety of applications.
The Xergy’s patented fabrication method allows for the manufacture of walls as thin as 0.001”, providing an improved water permeation rate per unit length.
The XIPERM Permeation Tube was compared to a leading competitor’s gas conditioning tube. The test carried out humidified a sealed, climate controlled box as a batch process, using the moisture from ambient air. The normalized results below show that the XIPERM tubes meet the competitor’s flux transfer rate at short times, when the pressure differential is large, and exceed the flux rate at lower pressure differentials.
